The SV950 Signature Ligature is the ultimate form of Masahiko Goto’s revolutionary signature ligature design.  The ligature takes the superb combination of the signature ligature design and hammered precious metal in the Copper Signature Ligature, and elevates it a degree by utilizing the most precious material in terms of harmonics and resonance – pure silver.  The plate and screw are instead crafted from copper, which produces a warm and centered tone, thus balancing the bright and resonant silver.

The signature ligature design features a pressure-plate system which straddles the ligature band in order to contact the reed – a reinvention of prevailing pressure-plate systems.  Through this design, the ligature exerts pressure on the reed more securely and evenly, which greatly improves responsiveness.

Pure silver is already an excellent material for producing a resonant tone with beautiful harmonics.  However, hammering the silver presses the individual molecules together into a denser, more uniform structure, which significantly improves the resonance of the silver. 

The SV950 Ligature has a beautiful, resonant tone with incredible projection and responsiveness.  It allows the musician to sing out over the ensemble or produce a not immediately and as softly as desired.
